Commissioned to create a mural that wraps 180° around the walls of the Vivarium, the famous butterfly exhibition in the American Museum of Natural History.

The mural was a combination of collaging and retouching multiple photographs into a an immersive rainforest experience. Working with the staff botanist, the plants types were decided to be true to the species of butterflies in the exhibit.

A special adhesive had to be manufactured for the adhesive vinyl to endure the humidity while being safe for the butterflies.

The installation was unveiled with the rest of the new wing - the Gilder Center, by Studio Gang.
