Let's work together on a commission

Whether you are an art consultant, public art commissioner, or business in need of art, your needs can be addressed with a commission.

The Commissioning Process

Phases

1.     Proposal and Agreement
A written proposal is prepared with scope, budget, and timeline. Once approved, the agreement is signed, covering usage rights, copyright, and other standard legal provisions.

2.     Research
Site, audience, and project goals are reviewed. All stakeholders are engaged, including the fabricator. Adaptive Design Thinking process ensures the art elevates the environment.

3.     Concept Development
Initial concepts are created and presented as digital mockups for feedback.

4.     Draft and Refinement
A draft composition is developed with up to three rounds of refinements. Proofs or color tests can be provided to test scale, lighting and other variables on site.

5.     Final Artwork Delivery
Final digital artwork is prepared in formats suitable for production.

Timeline

Commissions typically require one to three months, depending on research needs, project complexity, scheduling requirements for stakeholder and approval cycles. As the process is digital-first, project size has less impact on timing than in traditional media.

Fabrication

Final artwork will be fabricated and installed by one of our partners or by your organization, as decided in our agreement.
